Tottenham striker Harry Kane has suffered ligament damage to his right ankle and could be out of action for almost seven weeks. Kane suffered the blow during Sunday’s 6-0 FA Cup quarter-final win over Millwall on Sunday.
“We can confirm Harry Kane sustained ligament damage to his right ankle,” Tottenham said in a statement. “The injury is similar to the one suffered by the forward against Sunderland in September last year. However, it is not considered to be as severe. Harry will continue to be assessed by our medical staff while he undergoes his rehabilitation at our training centre.”
Kane, in all likelihood, will miss England’s friendly in Germany on March 22 and a home World Cup qualifier against Lithuania on March 26.
The Tottenham striker suffered the injury during his side’s 6-0 FA Cup win over Millwall. This season’s joint-leading scorer with 19 goals is unsure whether he will be available for Tottenham’s FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea at Wembley on April 22 or 23.
