Former Board of Control for Cricket in India chief Anurag Thakur, in a series of tweets, lashed out at the board and the Australian media in wake of India captain Virat Kohli being labelled as the “Donald Trump of sport” by a daily.
DISGRACEFUL behaviour by Australian media & @CricketAus officials in the way they are talking abt a legend of the game @viratkohli 1/3

What sort of 'truce' ws this? @BCCI compromised the integrity of their #TeamIndia Capt @imVkohli & didn't stand by their players & team. 2/3
— Anurag Thakur (@ianuragthakur) March 23, 2017
Its the fault of @BCCI & complete arrogance of @CricketAus who've alwys tried to dictate terms in cricket and target players. 3/3

Thakur also criticised the BCCI, who he thought “didn’t stand by the players and the team” after the bad blood that that had ensued between India and Australia after the second Border-Gavaskar Test.
The BCCI had written to the International Cricket Council to take cognizance of Australia captain Steve Smith’s controversial use of the Decision Review System during the second innings at Bengaluru. However, BCCI later withdrew their complaint after talks with Cricket Australia, where the CEOs of the respective boards had a chat.
Thakur yet again launched barbs at Australia. The 42-year-old slammed CA as “arrogant” and an entity that has tried to dictate terms in cricket while targeting certain players.
