On Sunday, New Zealand’s Tom Latham pulled off one of the greatest catches of all time. On strike was South African skipper Faf du Plessis, who had just completed his 50, and spinner Mitchell Santner was bowling.
Latham was on short-leg when the ball came in and he almost made it look easy as he gauged the ball’s trajectory even before the shot, accordingly shifting his position to pouch the ball when it was edged.
Du Plessis was down to one knee as he tried to sweep the ball, however, Latham anticipated the shot and before the ball was even pitched, he set off and moved towards the keeper. When Du Plessis connected bat to ball, Latham stretched his hands and caught the ball to get the South African skipper’s wicket. Even du Plessis was stunned and looked at Latham with amazement.
How good!?

Good call. Law 41.7 amended a couple of years ago to allow reaction to a shot that is likely to be played.....Just checked, actually! https://t.co/heHg7WJ9lT
