It was Delhi Daredevils all the way on Tuesday. Sanju Samson’s swashbuckling 102 was followed by a Chris Morris blitzkrieg as the Daredevils notched up 205. In reply, Rising Pune Supergiant were abject, bowled out for just 108 to give Delhi a comprehensive win.
- In terms of runs, Delhi Daredevils’ 97-run win over Rising Pune Supergiant was their biggest-ever win in the Indian Premier League, ahead of their 67-run win over Rajasthan Royals in 2010.
- The Daredevils scored 76 runs off their last four overs, which is the third-most for any team in the tournament.
- At the age of 22 years and 151 days, Sanju Samson became the second youngest player to score a century in the IPL. Manish Pandey was 19 years and 253 days old when he scored a century, playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, in 2009.
- Sanju Samson’s 102 was the 43rd century in IPL history, the 17th by an Indian player and the the seventh by a Delhi Daredevils player.
- Delhi Daredevils and Kings XI Punjab are tied at second player for having scored the most number of centuries (7) in the IPL. Only Royal Challengers Bangalore has scored more (12).
- All ten Rising Pune Supergiant wickets were caught-dismissals. This is the first time it has happened in the IPL and the tenth time it has happened in Twenty20 cricket.
- Pune’s total of 108 was their lowest in the IPL and the first time that they had been bowled out.
