The team picked for the Champions Trophy on Monday sees India’s regulars assume their place in the limited overs team after a long Test season.
According to chief selector MSK Prasad, the performances in the ongoing Indian Premier League were taken into consideration, but importance was given to the players’ performances over the course of the entire season.
India played a total of 13 Tests in their home season, with only a few one-dayers in between. With the team heading to England immediately after the IPL, the tournament is the only available source to gauge the form of each player.
