The eighth seeded Indo-French team of Rohan Bopanna and Edouard Roger-Vasselin bowed out of the men’s doubles campaign at the Championships in the second round on Friday. The duo lost to the British siblings Ken and Neal Skupski, in four sets in two hours and 29 minutes, 7-6(6), 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-3.
Bopanna and Roger-Vasselin never looked to have gotten settled into the match rhythm throughout the course of the match. They converted only one of the four break points they had on their opponents’ serve and failed to save three of the five break points they faced on their serve.
Bopanna and Roger-Vasselin won 75% points off their first serves and 58% points off their second serves. In comparison, the British team won 82% points on their first serves and 58% points on their second serves. For the entirety of the match, Bopanna and Roger-Vasselin finished with 122 points to the winning team’s 141.
