Defending champion Lakshya Sen packed off top seed Abhishek Yelegar 23-21, 21-14 to reach the final of the India International Series badminton tournament in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Sen, seeded fourth, will now take on unseeded Malaysian Yee Han Chong in the summit clash on Sunday.
The hosts would have finalists in four of the five event with the women’s singles and men’s doubles finals being an all-Indian affairs.
In the women’s singles final, Shikha Gautam will take on M Tanishq. Gautam got the better of seventh seed Rasika Raje 17-21, 21-19, 21-17 while Tanishq upset second seed Chua Hui Zhen Grace of Singapore 21-17, 16-21, 21-16.
The men’s doubles final will see eighth seeds Alwin Francis and K Nandagopal taking on third seed Arun George and Sanyam Shukla.
Alwin and Nandagopal got the better of fifth seed Rohan Kapoor and Shivam Sharma 21-17, 14-21, 21-18 while Arun and Shukla hammered qualifiers Vaibhaav and Prakash Raj 21-14, 21-13.
Women’s doubles will be the only event without an Indian representation in the final.
