Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku will not face any action for appearing to kick Brighton & Hove Albion defender Gaetan Bong, reported BBC. Lukaku could have be banned for three games for his antics on Saturday, according to reports. Video footage and photographs show Lukaku aiming two kicks at Bong, with the second hitting Cameroonian, in the game which United won 1-0.

The incident took place during the second half in the Brighton penalty area just before Ashley Young’s deflected winner. However, match referee Neil Swarbrick and his assistants missed the incident entirely. The Football Association asked three former Premier League referees to review the incident. They agreed it was a red-card offence, which was not shown in this case.

This means that Lukaku has escaped a three-match ban. The Belgian is United’s top scorer so far this season with 12 goals in all competitions.
