In the end, PV Sindhu was left with yet another silver medal. On Sunday, in the championship match of the Dubai Superseries Finals, Sindhu lost to Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi 15-21, 21-12, 21-19 in a 94-minute thriller. The duo gave it their all, as both were left gasping for breath after almost every rally, especially in the decider.
Even though she ended second on the podium, Twitter was abuzz as people congratulated Sindhu on her valiant effort. ‘What a bloody extraordinary match!’ said a fan while TDP minister Lokesh Nara said ‘What a game! Win or lose, you are a champion’.
Here are some of the reactions to that final:

Another 'Last Woman Standing' match for #PVSindhu. Lost Rio Olympics final, lost World C'ships final, now lost in #SuperSeriesFinals. But the only Indian woman to reach title matches in all three.
