Williamson’s exit had left a cloud over the result, but Yusuf’s late flourish put the game to bed. At one point, it looked like both teams were headed for a last-over finish, but YUsuf’s cameo spared all involved the tension.

WICKET! Williamson departs on 51. Soft dismissal. Flicks the ball straight to Russell at square leg off Johnson. The wicket comes at an inopportune time for SRH, who were well course to victory.

WICKET! Shakib departs. Piyush gives KKR the breakthrough. Looks for a shot but checks it last minute. In all the confusion, the ball sneaks through bat and pad to shatter the stumps. SRH need another 25 runs from 25 balls.

Williamson and Shakib are leading Hyderabad’s revival. The two have now added 47 runs for the fourth wicket. KKR need to break this stand if they hope to win from here.

Shakib comes into his own! Smashes Russell for two boundaries and a six. Hyderabad get a much needed boost after the string of quiet overs. They need another 51 runs from 48 balls.

WICKET! Pandey LBW! Kuldeep traps the batsman in front. he played for the turn, but the ball came straight. He ponders about taking a review, but runs out of time.

WICKET! Dhawan gone! Narine gets his second wicket of the day. It’s basically a yorker and the batsman fails to dig it out. It hits his pads and then crashes into the stumps.

WICKET! Saha departs for 24. Narine strikes first ball. Bowls it down leg and gets Saha to chase it. The batsman, though, can only manage an edge which is duly caught by the keeper.

Saha targets Johnson. Smashes him for three boundaries. SRH finally get a move on as they chase a modest target of 139.

Sedate start for Hyderabad in their chase of 139. Dhawan and Saha are being watchful. The required rate isn’t high which allows the batsmen some time to bide as they settle down. The openers have hit three boundaries between them so far.

It’s been an impressive performance by the Sunrisers in the field. The catching was stunning and the fielding in general was quite clinical. Backed by an all-round and discipline bowling attack, SRH were just well-equipped to restrict KKR to a low total. KKR, meanwhile, will rue the way their batsmen perished. There were a few good starts, but none of the batsmen could go on to score big. Karthik will want to rethink the decision to drop Narine down the order. The ploy failed big time today.

WICKET! Shivam Mavi is the last man to depart. Holes out looking to get a big one in before the end of the innings. Bhuvi completes the catch behind the wicket. He almost had collision with Stanlake, but holds onto the ball.

Mitchell Johnson hits it in the air and is caught, but it’s a no ball. The second no ball by Bhuvneshwar in that over. The batsmen cross, but Shivam Mavi can’t quite time the free-hit. Johnson though, hangs in there for the last over.

WICKET! Dinesh Karthik is caught behind off Bhuvneshwar. The knuckleball again. Karthik gets a healthy edge and is caught comfortably by the keeper. A late flourish by the skipper was the last hope for KKR to post a big total.

WICKET! Shubhman Gill departs for 3. Not a great debut for the youngster. Was under a lot of pressure to score, just could not handle to keep scoring against an experience SRH bowling line-up. Bhuvneshwar bowls the knuckleball wide but Shubman hits it away from the body and skies it. Shakib completes an easy catch.

100 up for KKR! Dinesh Karthik is still around, but KKR have lost all their big-hitters. The skipper will have to lead the way from here. Shubhman Gill, had showed the fire in India’s U-19 World Cup recently. Karthik will hope the youngster can replicate his performance tonight.

WICKET! Andre Russell gone for 9! Manish Pandey pulls off another brilliant catch. The Hyderabad players have been brilliant in the field today. The catching has been exemplary. Pandey, especially, warrants high praise. After a diving effort at backward point, this time around he completes a fine catch while running towards the boundary.

WICKET! Lynn gone! Shakib pulls a stunning catch off his own bowling to remove Lynn on 49. The Hyderabad players have been electric in the field today. Lynn dabs it down the track for an on drive, but can’t keep it down. Shakib dives to his left and completes a tough low catch.

WICKET! Narine departs on 9. Shakib deceives the batsman with an arm ball. Again, a Hyderabad player pulls off a pine catch in the field. This time it’s the captain who leads by example with a fine tumbling catch.

As Narine joins him in the middle, Lynn begins to swing his bat around. KKR need to get a move on from here if they hope to post a big total. SRH have been disciplined with the ball as well as in the field so far.

WICKET! Manish Pandey pulls off a fantastic catch at backward point to dismiss Rana. SRH strike immediately after the rain break! Rana slashes hard to a wide delivery from Stanlake, Pandey dives to his right and gets his hand to the ball, it pops out, but he completes the catch on the second attempt.

Rain halts play! The players are off the field and the covers are on. It’s not a heavy shower, but the groundsmen are covering the entire field.

Fifty up for Kolkata! Lynn, Rana are keeping the runs flowing. It might not be the blitzkrieg that we are accustomed to from the team, but it has been effective. With the spinners coming into the attack, both batsmen are looking to swing their arms.

Some tight bowling from SRH has managed to keep the KKR batsmen in check. Narine yet come into bat. Was Bhuvneshwar’s inclusion the reason behind him coming down the order? With Stanlake also bowling a disciplined spell, KKR will need to really dig deep if they hope to get off to a decent start.

WICKET! Uthappa gone! Bhuvneshwar gets an outside edge and is caught behind. The umpire turns down the appeal, but the review reveals there is a thick outside edge. KKR’s experiment with sending Uthappa ahead of Narine fails.

Watchful start by the Kolkata batsmen. With Narine sitting in the dugout, no fireworks to start off. All eyes on Lynn to make up for Narine’s temporary absence.

On a roll with successive wins, Sunrisers Hyderabad stand in the way of two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders, who would be looking to bring their campaign back on track at home during an Indian Premier League T20 cricket clash in Kolkata on Saturday.

With two wins from two matches, SRH lead the table ahead of Chennai Super Kings on net run rate.

The home side, on the other hand, will be smarting from a defeat against Chennai Super Kings despite posting a 200-plus total. On paper, Kane Williamson-led SRH are balanced sides, boasting an experienced batting lineup and an equally effective bowling unit, a dream combination for any captain.

But the visitors did not look too convincing in a modest chase against Mumbai Indians last night before pulling off a one-wicket victory off the last ball, a first in IPL history.

Leading 8-4 on head-to-head count, KKR will fancy chances against a team who had lost by 17 runs the last time they clashed at Eden Gardens in the last edition.
