MI win by 46 runs. They register their first win of the season.
Kohli remains unbeaten on 92 off 62. He gets the orange cap. It was a one-sided affair. RCB dominated for all of two balls at the start of the day, it’s been all Mumbai since then. Rohit came close to making a hundred, so did Kohli, but it was the hosts’ all-round show that took the game away from the visitors.

After 18 overs, RCB 137/8. They need another 77 runs to win from 12 balls.
WICKET! Umesh departs. He holes out off Bumrah. It’s all but over for RCB. Kohli still not out on 71 at the other end. This is also Bumrah’s 100th wicket for MI.

WICKET! Woakes gone. He’s caught at short third man. 50th IPL wicket for Bumrah. It’s not good viewing if you’re an RCB fan. Kohli is still around, but the game is just beyond the team now.

Kohli hangs in there on 70, but his side can’t win from here.

Fifty up for Kohli! He’s waging a lone battle at the moment. There’s no real hope of crossing the target. He’s now just batting for the end, just trying to keep the run-rate down.

WICKET! Sarfaraz departs. Markande has him stumped. The batsman steps forward, but misses the ball. Markande finishes with figures of 4-0-25-1.

Kishan gets hit by a throw. The ball bounced off awkwardly and hit him on the head. This is terrible. Terrible bruise just below his right eye but he is walking off the field. Tare comes on as substitute wicketkeeper.

WICKET! Krunal gets his third. New man Sudnar chases a full delivery bowled outside and holes out. Surya completes a simple catch in the deep. He gives away just two runs in that over.

Kohli sticks around as wickets tumble at the other end. RCB’s hopes of chasing the stiff total are disappearing quickly. The skipper is their last hope but he’s running out of partners.

WICKET! Krunal gets two in two. He’s on a hat-trick! Anderson holes out. The ball is pitched up and the batsman goes for it. Duminy completes an easy catch in the deep.

Kohli and Mandeep keep the scorecard ticking. They get a few boundaries in to keep abreast with the run-rate. De Villiers’ exit, though, might hurt them as they go ahead. There’s a lot of work left to be done.

WICKET! De Villiers departs! McClenaghan gets two in one over. The batsman looks to pull the ball over the fence, but hits it straight to Hardik at deep midwicket.

WICKET! De Kock bowled! McClenaghan strikes. The batsman makes room to stroke the ball through covers, but all that he can manage is a thin inside edge onto the stumps.

Kohli produces another fine cover drive to the fence. He seems to be in his element today. RCB need more of the same.

Kohli gets his side off to a fine start. Smashes Krunal for two back to back boundaries in the second over. De Kock also chips in with a four. It’s been a positive start for RCB,

After 1 over, RCB 7/0.
Virat Kohli opens the innings for RCB! Bumrah bowls a tight line, but Kohli hits a gorgeous boundary with an on drive off the final delivery of the over.

Frenetic start and a similar end to the innings. RCB began well, but MI were just better for the rest. Lewis started the onslaught and then Rohit stepped in. There was some controversy in the end as a caught behind call was turned down after a controversial review. Kohli seemed peeved. The reprieve saw MI add another dozen runs which could well decide who might end up on the winning side.

RCB conceded 70 in their last 5 overs. That might just come back to haunt them. How big a factor will the dew be?

WICKET! Rohit falls on 94. A fine knock comes to an end. He went down smashing. After dispatching Anderson for two fours and a six he aims for another big one. Unfortunately, he can’t clear the long on fielder and holes out. Mumbai, though, end strongly scoring 21 runs off the last over.

Controversy! Woakes thinks he’s got an edge from Hardik’s bat. The bowler appeals and the umpire agrees. The batsman though asks for a review. There’s a murmur on Ultra edge as the ball passes the bat, but the third umpire overturns the on-field call. Kohli isn’t happy, at all. To rub salt in the wounds Hardik smashes two sixes off the next two deliveries.

WICKET! Pollard holes out at long on. Woakes with a slower one. AB de Villiers completes an easy catch at the fence. Rohit Sharma is producing a masterclass now. He moves onto 79 off 46 balls. He has smashed eight boundaries and four sixes so far. Hundred on the cards for Rohit. MI also look set to reach the 200-run mark.

After 16 overs, MI 153/4.
WICKET! Krunal run-out. The two batsmen look to convert the one into two. There was some hesitation for Krunal, as they turned around for a second. Woakes is quick with the throw. Krunal puts in a dive but is well short. The dismissal ends a handy 39-run stand with Rohit.

Fifty for Rohit! Gets there with a six and boundary off Umesh, who returns for his second spell. The MI skipper is looking well settled. There are enough overs left for the hosts to power towards 200, but Rohit will be key.

Lewis’ exit has slowed down the run-rate just a bit. He ends the lull with a six off Chahal, but is given a scare as he attempts to clear cover. The ball ends up just short of Kohli who puts in a forward dive. Poor shot.

WICKET! Lewis gets top edge off Anderson. It flies high behind the stumps. De Kock covers the distance quickly to complete a straightforward catch.

Lewis is on fire now. Smashes Chahal for two huge sixes. Mumabi Indians are ready to launch from here on. Rohit is also primed for a big one.

After 9 overs, MI 85/2.
Fifty up for Lewis! He gets there off a a six over midwicket. He has looked completely at ease so far. The Trinidadian has dominated the bowlers today, smashing 6 fours and three boundaries.

After 7 overs, MI 63/2.
RCB get a few quiet overs in. Woakes gave away just 4 runs and now Siraj keeps the runs down to three in the seventh. RCB need a few more of those if they hope to put some pressure on the Lewis and Rohit.

After 6 overs, MI 60/2 (End of Powerplay)
Mumbai have dominated the RCB bowlers after those first two balls by Umesh. Lewis and Rohit are getting a boundary in nearly every over. RCB need another wicket quickly.

50 up for MI! After 5 overs, MI 56/2 (Lewis 33*, Rohit 12*)
RCB have conceded 11 extras so far. After the fiery first over, Bangalore have allowed the Mumbai batsmen to stage a recovery. The experience Rohit Sharma and Evin Lewis have capitalised as the bowlers produce an undisciplined performance.

Sundar replaces Woakes. but doesn’t enjoy much success. He first pitches it full outside off to Rohit, who creams it through the covers. He makes the same mistake with Lewis and then overcompensates by drifting into leg. He first concedes five wides and then is swept for a boundary. He gives away 19 runs.

After 3 overs, MI 21/2
Umesh misses his mark with both an length in his second over. Strays down leg for most part. Even concedes a boundary to Lewis. With the pressure off, Rohit and Lewis help themselves as they look to quickly settle down.

After 2 overs, MI 15/2
As we still recover from the fiery first over from Umesh, Rohit, Lewis get some runs under their belt off Woakes. MI score 12 runs from the over, including a six and boundary.

After 1 over, MI 3/2
Rohit Sharma fends off the hat-trick ball. It’s pitched on leg, Rohit is late into the flick, but he’s lucky it only hits the pads for a leg bye. A brilliant start by Umesh.

WICKET! Umesh Yadav on fire! Gets two and two. This time it’s Ishan Kishan who is bowled. Pitches it on the off stump for the left-handed batsman. Kishen goes for a drive and misses.

Kohli says he chose to bowl first as the conditions are damp and feels the there’s cloud cover. Dew could be a factor later.

RCB bring Sarfaraz, Anderson and Siraj back into the XI. Negi, McCullum and Khejroliya miss out. MI leave out Dhananjaya, bring in McClenaghan.

Toss: RCB win the toss and choose to bowl first.

The Mumbai Indians are sitting at the bottom of the IPL table with no wins in three games.

Pitch Report: Gavaskar reckons that the Wankhede wickets has a number of cracks, so there could be some help for the spinners.

Kohli needs another 31 runs to move ahead Suresh Raina and become the leading run-scorer in the IPL.

Mumbai Indians have beaten Royal Challengers Bangalore more often than any other IPL team RCB have lost to Mumbai in their last four meetings.

Winless Mumbai Indians will pit their might against formidable Royal Challengers Bangalore in an adrenaline-charged Indian Premier League match in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Both teams, with a plethora of explosive batsmen, are yet to find their feet in the T20 league and would be keen to gather some momentum with a victory here at the Wankhede Stadium.

If MI have their problems to sort out, having lost at the death in all three games so far, RCB too have their own shortcomings to address with only one win in three games under their belt.

Both the games held in Mumbai so far have gone down to the wire and on both occasions MI have had their chances to go across the line and fumbled on the doorstep against Chennai Super Kings in the season opener and then Delhi Daredevils.

In between they had also lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad in their first away game of the season, so that the three-time champions led by Rohit Sharma are placed at the bottom of the eight-team table.

MI had been in worse situations before recovering poise to become eventual champions.

RCB started off on the losing note away from home to Kolkata Knight Riders, brought their campaign on track immediately with a convincing victory over Kings XI Punjab at home and then lost a high-scoring game to Rajasthan Royals at home on Sunday.

MI’s batting, on the other hand, failed to rocket off in the first two games and when it clicked the bowlers lost the plot.
