Hockey Jharkhand came from behind to beat Hockey Haryana 4-2 to win the Hockey India Junior Women National Championship (A Division) on Sunday. Hockey Gangpur-Odisha won the bronze medal defeating Uttar Pradesh Hockey 2-1.
In the final match of the competition, it was Hockey Jharkhand who produced an emphatic display as they came from a goal down to get the better of Hockey Haryana.
In the men’s final, Hockey Punjab beat Hockey Haryana 4-2 to lift the trophy. In the bronze medal match, Hockey Gangpur-Odisha thrashed Hockey Odisha 6-1. It was an emphatic performance by the team.
Gursahibjit Singh scored a hat-trick for Punjab as he found the back of the net in the 42nd, 57th and 65th minutes while Karajwinder Singh (70’) added to the tally. Haryana’s two goals were scored by Deepak (26’) and Mohit (37’).
