Saketh Myneni fought back from set down to beat top seed Mikhail Youzhny 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 at the Astana Challenger. It was among the biggest wins of his career as Youzhny is a former Top-10 player.

Ramkumar Ramanathan made a winning start at the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships at Newport, Rhode Island. A 6-4, 6-1 victory against Dominican Republic’s Victor Estrella Borgos the first round has earned him a meeting with eighth seed Denis Kudla.

Ramkumar’s compatriots Purav Raja and Divij Sharan also made winning starts in their respective doubles matches. Purav and partner Ken Skupski of Great Britain beat Ruben Bemelmans of Belgium and Denis Kudla of the USA 7-5, 6-4. Divij and Jackson Withrow of the USA beat Martin Redlicki and Evan Zhu 6-3, 6-3.

Among the women, Ankita Raina beat local Chompoothip Jundakate 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 to advance to the second round of the ITF Futures tournament in Thailand. In the next round, will be up against compatriot Rutuja Bhosale, who had beaten Bunyawi Thamchaiwat of Thailand 6-2, 6-2 in the first round.
