Woman withdraws assault case against Amit Mishra
The Bengaluru police had booked the cricketer after she complained that he had physically and verbally abused her in a hotel last month.
The woman who had gone to the police alleging that Indian cricketer Amit Mishra had assaulted her in a Bengaluru hotel last month has withdrawn the case. On Thursday, she went to the police station and said she had decided to drop the matter as they are friends and want to resolve this amicably.
She also claimed that she has not acted under pressure and was surprised by how quickly the story made national headlines. On Tuesday, the police had booked the cricketer for "outraging the modesty" of a woman and intentionally causing hurt.
