A platoon of Haryana’s special Rapid Action Force was deployed on Friday to maintain law and order in Sunped village, where two children from a Dalit family were burnt alive, allegedly by upper caste men. Six RAF officials are stationed at the house where the family of four was sleeping when they were doused with petrol and set ablaze, according to Press Trust of India. Most officials in the platoon were drawn out from the three companies of special RAF forces still deployed at Atali village near Ballabhgarh, where communal clashes had taken place around three months ago.

More than 300 police personnel are still on patrol, but villagers confined themselves to their houses on Friday, leaving the area deserted. On Thursday, Jitender, the father of the children who died, was taken back to hospital after he developed an infection from his burn injuries.
