The Indian Youth Congress protested near Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters in Delhi on Sunday against Union minister VK Singh’s remarks after the death of two Dalit children in Faridabad. Communist Party of India (Marxist) held a similar demonstration near the Kolkata airport. Delhi police detained some of the protestors, reported ANI.
When asked if the Centre was liable for the murder of the children, who were set ablaze on Monday, the former Army chief had said that the government was not responsible if someone threw stones at a dog. Singh has been intensely criticised for the statement, and the National Commission for Schedule Castes has taken cognisance of the issue.
