Nitish Kumar's computers have 'Lalu virus', says Narendra Modi
The Prime Minister also said that he would lay down his life to protect the reservation policy.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday mocked Janata Dal (United) chief Nitish Kumar's plan to give out free computers in the state, saying they were infested with a "Lalu virus". He also asked how Kumar's computers would work in Bihar without electricity. Lalu Prasad Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal is in alliance with Kumar's JD(U) in Bihar, along with the Congress.
During his speech at a rally in Buxar, Bihar, Modi promised the state basic necessities such as water, electricity, roads, education, and employment. He also said he would "lay down his life" to protect reservation, adding that the Grand Alliance was trying to mislead the public about it.
Modi also said that Bihar had been misruled for 35 years, and that while the first Green Revolution took place in Haryana and Punjab, the second should be in Bihar once it has access to more water.
Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi also addressed an election rally in Bihar on Monday, where he said that the Congress government would not be one that refers to Dalits as dogs. He was alluding to Bharatiya Janata Party minister VK Singh's remark after two Dalit children were killed in Faridabad last week. When asked if the Centre was at fault for the killings, Singh had said that the government was not responsible if someone stoned a dog.
Rahul Gandhi also accused the prime minister of travelling the world, but not having the time to meet poor farmers in his own country. He asked Modi to "stop lying" and "start working".
