Bharatiya Janata Party leader Arun Shourie on Monday attacked the Centre, saying that Narendra Modi-led BJP government is "Congress plus cow". He said that the government believes that “managing the economy means managing the headlines”. Shourie also claimed that the Prime Minister’s Office is at its weakest ever and that there has been a centralisation of functions as never before.

Speaking at a book launch, the former union minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government said that people have started drawing comparisons with the tenure of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Shourie advised the Centre to refrain from sparring with state governments and instead work together for policy implementation.
