BJP leader Bhola Singh joins Shatrughan Sinha, criticises party's handling of Bihar
The MP from the state's Begusarai constituency said his party drowned itself in the polls.
After actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha praised Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar’s win in the state, another Bharatiya Janata Party’s leader Bhola Singh criticised the party for its handling of the election. “BJP not only lost in Bihar, but got drowned in knee-deep water,” said Singh, a party MP for Bihar's Begusarai constituency. The two-time MP complained he was not getting his due from the party in his own constituency, and blamed the Prime Minister’s “undignified comments” for the BJP's loss in Bihar, the Press Trust of India reported on Tuesday.
The National Democratic Alliance lost all seven Assembly seats in Begusarai to the Grand Alliance. Singh also criticised Union minister of state Giriraj Singh for his controversial remarks during the run-up to the polls. Senior party leader Amrendra Pratap Singh, who lost from the Assembly constituency of Ara, also said, “Our social equation was smaller and less effective than that of the grand secular alliance of JD(U), RJD and Congress”.
BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha (pictured above) on Monday met Nitish Kumar and congratulated him on his win in Bihar, triggering criticism from party general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya who likened him to a dog. Sinha hit back at him and tweeted, “Haathi chale Bihar,....bhaunken hazaar”.
