Veteran actor Saeed Jaffrey dies at 86
Jaffrey is known for his roles in movies such as 'Gandhi', 'A Passage To India' and 'Shatranj Ke Khiladi'.

Veter Bollywood actor Saeed Jaffrey passed away at the age of 86. Jaffrey’s niece Shaheen Aggarwal shared the news on Monday. He had also acted in several British movies and had shared the screen with many eminent faces, including Rishi Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah and Ben Kingsley. The actor was married to writer and actor Madhur Jaffrey till 1965 and had three daughters with her.
Jaffrey appeared on screen more than 200 times, working with British directors including Richard Attenborough, David Lean, and Stephen Frears, evening being awarded the Order of the British Empire for his work there. He started out as a theatre actor in New Delhi, forming his own theatre group, before moving on to his screen career. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the British Film Institute were among the many who took to Twitter to offer their condolences.
