Principal held as three-year-old Hyderabad girl dies in school elevator accident

A three-year-old girl died in Hyderabad on Tuesday morning after she got stuck in an elevator door at her primary school. NDTV reported that the child, Syeda Xanaib, was studying at a private school in Dilsukhnagar, Hyderabad, where the accident took place. The police have registered a case and are investigating the death. The family of the deceased girl and locals have gathered outside the school in protest, demanding criminal charges to be registered against the authorities responsible for the accident, reported ANI. The school's principal was arrested shortly after.
The Sri Chaitanya School was closed down and the district education officer summoned by the police to assist the investigations. “We have registered the case. We will take stern action as per the law,” DCP, East Zone, D Ravindra said.
