Tests conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences confirmed that the remains found in a forested area in Gogade Khurd, Maharashtra, belonged to Sheena Bora. The report comes as a major breakthrough in the case. The report has been shared with the Central Bureau of Investigation, who is handling the case of the 24-year-old’s murder in 2012. On August 28, police had found a human skull and skeletal remains in the Raigad forest.
The Times of India reported that the CBI is likely to soon file a chargesheet in the case against the accused – Bora’s mother Indrani Mukherjee, Mukherjee’s ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna, and former driver Shyamvar Rai. According to police, Sheena Bora was taken to a forest in Raigad district on the outskirts of Mumbai in April 2012 where she was strangled and dumped. The three accused are in judicial custody till November 20.
