Narendra Modi government on right track to bring achhe din, says LK Advani
He added that the consciousness of the BJP has increased after the Bihar polls debacle.
Bharatiya Janata Party veteran LK Advani said the central government is on the right track to bring “achhe din” in the country. Achhe din, or better days, was Prime Minister Narendra Modi's slogan during the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. Addressing journalists after casting his vote in the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation elections, Advani said, "I believe that the whole system takes its own time. Since the government is going in the right direction, I believe that the results will also be good." He added that the consciousness of the party has increased after the Bihar polls debacle.
On November 10, Advani and other BJP veterans Murli Manohar Joshi, Shanta Kumar and Yashwant Sinha had issued a strongly-worded statement criticising the party for its heavy defeat in the Bihar elections. They said that the party has been "emasculated in the last one year" and was being "forced to kowtow to a handful".
Voting began on Sunday for six municipal corporation elections in Gujarat. Apart from Advani, BJP president Amit Shah and Chief Minister Anandiben Patel also cast their votes. The stakes are high for the BJP in these polls following the Patel quota agitation this year, with the Congress looking to make a comeback. These are also the first elections in the state after Modi, the former chief minister, became prime minister last year.
