Delhi odd-even formula: 10 lakh private cars to go off roads daily, says official
The Aam Aadmi Party government is still to decide on a policy for the 57 lakh two-wheelers in the city.
Nearly half of the 19 lakh private four-wheelers in Delhi will go off the roads after the odd-even number plate formula is enforced from January 1, a government official told PTI. The reduction in traffic flow is expected to significantly reduce the high level of pollution in the city, the report said.
The Aam Aadmi Party government is still to decide on a policy for the 57 lakh two-wheelers in the city. It also has to take a decision on the large number of private four-wheelers entering the national capital from nearby cities such as Noida, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Sonipat.
The Delhi government has said that it will come out with a final plan to implement the odd-even formula before December 25.
