Two Indian Paralympic athletes were denied entry into the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Delhi, the venue of the final of the Pro Wrestling League on Sunday, The Times of India reported. Table tennis players Pradeep Raj and Suvarna Raj, who have a lower-limb insufficiency, held VIP entry passes to the event, but were told that the stadium was full and wasn't wheelchair accessible.

This happened hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi described those with physical limitations as divyang (humans with divine abilities) and not viklang (handicapped) in his monthly Mann ki Baat address. The two players appealed to Modi and the Delhi Police for justice via Twitter.

The event organisers said they had taken measures to make the venue wheelchair-accessible, but the unexpected large turnout had necessitated the security measures.
