A priest in the Philippines was suspended by the Catholic diocese for rolling up and down the church aisles on a hoverboard while addressing parishioners on Christmas eve. The priest was videotaped delivering his unusual sermon in San Pablo, Laguna, to scattered applause and amusement.

A statement by the diocese posted on Facebook read: "As a way of greeting his parishioners, the priest sang a Christmas song, while going around the nave standing on a hoverboard. That was wrong.” It said the priest was trying to "capriciously introduce something to get the attention of the people" and that he would now spend some time reflecting on his actions.

The priest's identity was not disclosed. Viewers of the Facebook post seemed to be split on the issue, with some commending the diocese's stern action, while others said the church needed to do things like this to attract youngsters.
