Trains halted at Delhi after bomb scare on Delhi-Lucknow train
Lucknow-bound trains were evacuated and security has been increased though the threat was allegedly a hoax.
Trains were delayed at New Delhi railway station after railway officials received an email about a bomb on the Delhi-Lucknow Shatabdi Express. Mumbai’s anti-terror squad informed the Railway Board about the threat, after which the train was immediately evacuated. Other Lucknow-bound trains were evacuated as well, and allowed to leave after they had been searched and found safe.
The threat comes a day after an attack on the Pathankot Air Force base on Saturday. The capital has been put on alert after the incident, and security has been stepped up in public spaces.
More details are awaited.
