Indian Army, Bihar Police, Railway Police, NIA, IB are all looking for missing military officer
Indian Army Captain Shikhar Deep continued to be untraceable four days after taking a train from Bihar to Delhi.
The Defence Ministry said on Thursday that the Indian Army, the Bihar Police, the Railway Police, the National Investigative Agency and the Intelligence Bureau are all involved in a joint search operation for a missing military officer. Indian Army Captain Shikhar Deep, who went missing during a train journey from Bihar to Delhi on Sunday, continued to be untraceable even as a massive hunt is underway, reported PTI.
An FIR has been lodged and Army is expected to order a Court of Inquiry, saying that it could be a criminal or an accident case. The 25-year-old officer, hailing from Mahenderpur in Bihar's Purnia district, went missing while he was travelling by the Mahananda Express from Kathihar in Bihar to Delhi on the night of February 6–7. He was returning to duty after a 30-day annual leave.
The luggage of the officer has been traced by the railway and army authorities in Delhi. Nothing except for the cash from his wallet is missing from the luggage, a Defence Ministry spokesman said.
