Indian Army Captain Shikhar Deep, who had gone missing during a train journey from Bihar to Delhi on February 7, resurfaced in Uttar Pradesh's Faziabad on Saturday, reported IBN. He went to a police station and revealed his identity, two days after the Defence Ministry involved the Indian Army, the Bihar Police, the Railway Police, the National Investigative Agency and the Intelligence Bureau in a joint operation to find him.

The 25-year-old was travelling form Bihar to Delhi. The NDTV reported that the ticket examiner and the man who provided bed-sheet in the coach last saw him at Kanpur during the journey. The young officer, however, claimed that he was abducted near Patna Railway station and taken to an isolated spot, from where he somehow managed to escape and take a train to Faziabad. Deep is posted in Jammu and Kashmir and his family had earlier alleged involvement of anti-national elements.
