British indie band Viola Beach killed in a car crash near Stockholm
All four members along with their manager were in the vehicle that plunged more than 80 ft off a gap on the Swedish highway.

All four musicians and the manager of United Kingdom indie band Viola Beach died in a fatal car accident near Stockholm on Saturday, reported BBC. The Swedish police said their car plunged more than 25m (82ft) through a gap in a highway bridge, which had opened to let a boat pass underneath, reported The Telegraph. The accident took place after the band played their first gig outside the UK. Tributes poured in on Sunday from around the world from the musicians aged between 19 and 35.
In a statement, vocalist Kris Leonard's family said, “Words cannot express the sadness we feel at the loss of our precious Kristian. He was doing the job he loved and will be missed so much by his family and friends.” The family of guitarist River Reeves said, “We are so proud of him, not only for what he achieved in his short beautiful life, but also what he was clearly destined to achieve. He will live forever in our hearts and we hope the band’s wonderful music lives on.” Bassist Tomas Lowe’s family called him the “best son, brother, uncle and friend you could ever wish for”.
