Mars recalls candy bars in 55 countries
The American chocolate maker took the decision after plastic was found in one of its products.
American chocolate maker Mars said on Tuesday it is recalling candy bars and other items in 55 countries after plastic was found in one of its products, reported AP. The affected candy brands are Mars, Snickers, Milky Way, Celebrations, and Mini Mix. Initial reports said the recall was restricted to Germany, but the company later issued a statement saying 55 countries were affected. It isn't clear whether India is one of the affected countries.
The products involved in the recall have best-before dates from June 19, 2016, to January 8, 2017, reported the BBC. Mars has not revealed how many bars are affected, but said in its statement, "With this recall, we would like to prevent consumers who have purchased one of the above-mentioned products from consuming it."
