Facebook on Wednesday announced the worldwide roll-out of its "Reactions" feature, which is an extension of the "Like" button. With this, users will be able to express the following reactions to Facebook posts: "Like", "Love", "Haha", "Wow", "Sad" and "Angry". To use the new feature, users have to hold down the "Like" button on mobile devices or hover over the button on desktops to see a menu of reaction images.

In a blog post, Facebook product manager Sammi Krug said, "We have been testing Reactions in a few markets since last year, and have received positive feedback so far. Today, we’re excited to offer it to everyone who uses Facebook around the world." Reuters reported that a pilot project of the new feature was launched in Ireland and Spain in October.
