The Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday will move a notice in the Parliament against Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s for using the phrase “fair and lovely” in the House two days ago. Gandhi had criticised the BJP government and mocked the Centre’s “fair and lovely” scheme to convert black money into white. The BJP has said the phrase was racially discriminatory, and has also submitted a letter to the Lok Sabha Speaker seeking an apology from Gandhi on his remarks against Hindutva leader Veer Savarkar and BJP member Kirit Somaiya.

Gandhi had attacked the Centre for the new Budget on Wednesday, among other things. He claimed that the government had come up with “ways to save” people with black money, after the BJP had initially promised to take action against them.
