A Bhubaneswar-bound Air India jet and a Nepal Airlines flight headed to Kathmandu were evacuated and taken for security clearance.
Air India flight AI 075 headed to Bhubaneswar and a Kathmandu-bound Nepal Airlines flight RA 206 were grounded at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Thursday after bomb threats. An NDTV report said there were four parliamentarians on board the Air India flight. All passengers were evacuated, and the flights were taken for security clearance. ANI reported that the call was made by the same person who had told authorities there was a bomb on an Air India flight that reached Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport on Wednesday evening.
The Air India flight AI 332 from Delhi to Bangkok was searched late Wednesday night after authorities received two bomb threats. Reports said the aircraft landed a few minutes ahead of its scheduled arrival time at Suvarnabhumi airport, and was parked in an isolated bay, where it was evacuated within 90 seconds and then searched. There were 231 passengers and 10 crew members on board. CNN-IBN reported that Indranil Banerjee, chief of Air India’s Thailand office, said no bombs were found on the aircraft.
