The National Investigation Agency has identified four terrorists who attacked the Indian Air Force base in Pathankot, The Times of India reported. Two of the attackers were from Punjab in Pakistan, while the other two were from Sindh. The report also added that the agency gave the names to the Joint Investigation Team that had come from Pakistan, along with addresses for all four. Director General of NIA Sharad Kumar said they had asked Pakistan to confirm the terrorists’ names. The NIA also identified two Jaish-e-Mohammed handlers, one from Gujaranwala and another from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The NIA hopes to travel to Pakistan to further investigate the attack. Investigators are likely to seek access to JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar and his brother Rauf, the report said. On Wednesday, the NIA had sought voice samples of Azhar's, Rauf’s and three others from the Pakistan investigators.

Members of the JIT have been questioning witnesses from the case, on Thursday. Suspended Gurdaspur Superintendent of Police, Salwinder Singh, and a member of his staff were taken to NIA headquarters for interrogation. Singh had said he and his cook were abducted by the terrorists before they attacked the base.
