Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's AIADMK party gets support from seven more minority outfits
So far, some 700 organisations and social groups have pledged their allegiance to the ruling party for the upcoming polls and handed over a list of demands.
Seven minority parties on Saturday pledged their support to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam for the upcoming Assembly elections. Leaders of these parties met a team of senior ministers headed by O Panneerselvam to convey their decision, joining nearly 700 organisations and social groups that have done the same.
Leader of the Manithaneya Jananayaka Katchi Thamimun Ansari was among those who extended support to AIADMK. He said his party will "work for the victory" of AIADMK in the polls and that they had handed over a list of constituencies the MJK wished to contest, The New Indian Express reported.
Other party leaders who met with the chief minister at her Chennai home were N Sethuraman of Moovendar Munnani Kazhagam, Jagan Murthi of Puratchi Bharatham Katchi, Sridhar Vandaiyar of Moovendar Munnetra Kazhagam, Fathima Muzzafar, daughter of late Indian Union Muslim League leader Abdul Samad, K Sellamuthu of Uzhavar Uzhappalar Katch, and John Pandiyan of Tamizhaga Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam. Each of them submitted their respective list of demands to be part of the alliance.
