Four foreign nationals were allegedly harassed and assaulted by a group of drunk men in Rajasthan’s Ajmer district on Monday, reported Hindustan Times. A woman in the group was molested and a man was seriously injured in the attack. Police said the group of two men and two women, all aged between 35 and 40 years, had checked into a hotel in Pushkar two days ago. They were exploring local tourist attractions on two rented bikes when they came across the group of men near Ajaypal temple in the Aravali hills.

“When they reached near Ajaypal temple, four or five local goons who were consuming liquor tried to talk to them. But after they refused, the goons chased them and attacked one of the ladies,” Ajmer Superintendent of Police Nitindeep Balaggan told the newspaper. He said the local men molested one of the women and hit a man on his head with a stone when he tried to intervene.

The tourists managed to escape the men and called a friend who took them to a hospital. Police said they are trying to convince the tourists to lodge a formal complaint. The culprits have not been identified yet. The women are from Spain and Turkey, while one man is from the United States. The nationality of the second man is not known yet.
