The investigators have also recovered the bike used the assailants when they attacked Mohammad Tanzil and his wife on Saturday.
Two people have been detained by the police in connection with the murder of National Investigation Agency officer Mohammad Tanzil in Uttar Pradesh, reported ANI. The news investigators have also recovered the bike used by the assailants in the April 2 attack, said the news agency, quoting sources.
The police had earlier said they have found some "promising clues" in the case and are hopeful of a major breakthrough soon, reported The Times of India. "We are looking into some property disputes and an instance of personal enmity as well that has come to light," Director General of Police Javeed Ahmed told the newspaper.
Tanzil, a deputy superintendent of police at the NIA, was returning from a wedding with his wife Farzana and children when he was attacked by unidentified men on motorcycle near Sahaspur village in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor district. The officer was shot at 21 times, while the attacker fired four rounds at his wife. While Tanzil succumbed to his injuries, his wife is still recovering at a Noida hospital. The officer was part of several terror-related investigations.
