At least 50 people were killed after a bomb ripped through a market in Baghdad, Iraq, on Wednesda, Reuters reported. While the toll has not been confirmed yet, more than 60 people have reportedly been wounded.

The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack in an online statement. The car bomb went off in Sadr City in the Shiite Muslim district. The bomb kept in an SUV exploded near a beauty parlour in the bustling market, officials said. While most of the victims were women, according to AFP, many of the injured are believed to in critical condition, BBC reported.
