Ford to recall 48,700 EcoSport SUVs in India
The American automaker said the vehicles have problems with their fuel and brake lines, while 700 have faulty rear folding seats.
Ford Motor Co. has decided to recall 48,700 EcoSport sport-utility vehicles in India, reported Reuters. The car manufacturing company said they had discovered some faults in the fuel and brake lines in some vehicles, and the rear folding seat, and hence decided to recall the cars.
The SUVs that are going to be recalled for faulty fuel and brake lines belong to the batches that were manufactured between April 2013 and June 2014. The company said they plan to put new bundle clips to fix the problem in 48,000 such cars. The American automaker will recall another 700 SUVs made between January and February 2016 for rear seat problem.
"On certain vehicles, the 40% rear seat backrest might have been assembled with bolts that do not meet Ford's material specification, potentially causing the bolts to break," the company said in a statement.
