Three killed, at least 40 injured after explosion at chemical factory in Mumbai's Dombivali area
Six other buildings were damaged as a result of the blast, which led to panic and severe traffic congestion in the area.
At least three people died and more than 40 others were injured on Thursday after a boiler exploded at a chemical factory in Mumbai’s Dombivali area. Some are also feared trapped in the Herbert Brown Acharya company’s factory, according to reports. Fire tenders are on location, trying to douse the flames caused by the explosion, The Times of India reported. The source of the blast has not been determined yet.
Six other nearby buildings were damaged as a result of the blast, which led to panic and severe traffic congestion in the area. District collector of Thane Dr Mahendra Kalyankar has asked for an immediate review to be conducted into the incident.
The injured have been taken to AIMS Dombivli, RR hospital, Shastrinagar Hospital and Shivam Hospital. Mayor of the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation Rajendra Devlekar confirmed the three deaths in the incident.
