Netaji files: Culture Ministry releases fourth set of classified documents
The papers have revealed that Subhas Chandra Bose was never declared a war criminal.
The Union Ministry of Culture on Friday released the fourth batch of 25 classified files in connection with Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, reported ANI. The files were released on web portal www.netajipapers.gov.in. The newly declassified files have revealed that Bose was never branded a war criminal, The Times of India said.
In January, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had released digital copies of 100 secret files related to the freedom fighter, on his 119th birth anniversary. The documents had been put in the public domain for the first time. Since then, three other sets of files have been released pertaining to Netaji's ashes and the investigation into his disappearance following the 1945 air crash in which he was believed to have died.
