India and Pakistan have been drawn in the same group of the International Cricket Council's Champions Trophy 2017, which will be held in England and Wales in June next year. The two teams will play each other at Edgbaston on June 4, 2017. India and Pakistan are placed in Group B, along with South Africa and Sri Lanka. Group A comprises the other four teams that make up the top eight in the ICC One-day Internationals rankings: Australia, New Zealand, England and Bangladesh.
Hosts England will take on Bangladesh in the tournament opener on June 1 next year. The eight teams will play 15 matches over 18 days at Cardiff, Edgbaston and The Oval, the ICC said. India are the defending champions, having won the tournament in 2013, which was also hosted by England and Wales.
