17 killed, 35 injured on Mumbai-Pune Expressway after bus rams into two cars
The luxury bus fell into a 20-feet-deep gorge near Navi Mumbai, and the toll is expected to rise.
At least 17 people died and more than were 35 injured early on Sunday after a luxury bus crashed into two cars and fell into a 20-feet-deep gorge on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The injured have been taken to MGM Hospital in Kamothe, Navi Mumbai, and Ashtavinayak hospital, and the toll is expected to rise, The Indian Express reported.
The accident took place around 5.30 am near Navi Mumbai. The the bus, which was headed to Mumbai from Satara, rammed into a Swift DZire and Innova parked on the shoulder land of the expressway. The Innova had stopped by the road to help the driver of the DZire change a punctured tyre.
