No waiting list, only confirmed rail tickets by 2020: Suresh Prabhu
The Union minister said that the Indian Railways hopes to be able to meet the population's demand of tickets in four years.
Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu claimed on Friday that all commuters will get confirmed tickets by 2020, ANI reported. He also promised to improve the services of the railways. “Considering the present situation, I hope the supply and demand of tickets in railways will be met by 2020. This work is challenging, looking at the country’s population and increasing dependence on railways,” Prabhu said.
The minister further said that the railways will try to employ technology in its services as much as possible in future. "As of now, the technology that the Indian Railways is using is undoubtedly the best,” he added.
Prabhu also believes that the proposed bullet train between Mumbai and Ahmedabad will be a game-changer. “It will have a positive impact on the economy and will also increase business,” he said.
