MNS workers cut a cake with Asaduddin Owaisi's image on it to mark Raj Thackeray's birthday
The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen has criticised the act that was meant to rile their party leader.
Members of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena on Tuesday cut a cake with an image of AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi on it to mark the birthday of party chief Raj Thackeray, reported The Indian Express. Thackeray turned 48.
The Hyderabad-based All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen immediately criticised the act. AIMIM legislator Waris Pathan asked for strict action against those who participated event, which took place in Thackeray's Dadar home.
Thackeray and Owaisi had sparred when the AIMIM chef said said he will not chant ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’, even if a knife is put to his throat. Reacting to this, Thackeray had reportedly said, “Come to Maharashtra, I will put a knife to your throat.”
