Hollywood actor Anton Yelchin dead at 27
The cause of the 'Star Trek’ actor's death was given as a traffic collision.
Anton Yelchin, the 27-year-old actor whose credits include the rebooted Star Trek movies and Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 2015 Hollywood film Broken Horses, has died. He was 27 years old.
The official cause of his death was a fatal traffic collision, his publicist, Jennifer Allen, told Associated Press. According to the gossip website TMZ, Yelchin died after being pinned by his own car.
Yelchin’s roles include Alpha Dog and Charlie Bartlett. He played Chekov, a member of the multiracial crew on board the USS Enterprise in the recent Star Trek films. The latest movie, Star Trek Beyond, will be released in July.
According to Associated Press, Yelchin was born in Russia, and is an only child. His parents were figure skaters who moved to the United States of America when Yelchin was a child.
