The CRPF commandant said while two terrorists have been killed, the operation is still underway as two others are believed to be hiding in the area.
At least eight Central Reserve Police Force personnel were killed in Jammu and Kashmir's Pampore town on Saturday when militants attacked a bus carrying the jawans, reported NDTV. More than 20 others were injured after the ultras opened fire at the bus.
“Two terrorists were killed, we’ve lost 5 jawans and 20 injured. The injured were admitted in a hospital,” said CRPF commandant Rajesh Yadav, adding that the assault took place when the men were on their way back to their base after attending a practice session at a firing range in Lathpora.
Security personnel recovered two AK 47 rifles, 11 hand grenades and other arms and ammunition from the terrorists who were shot dead in the gunfight, according to ANI. The operation is still reportedly underway as two other militants are believed to be hiding in the area.
