Turkish police detain 13 people in connection with the Istanbul airport attack
Investigators confirmed that the three suicide bombers involved in the assault were from Russia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The Turkish Police have arrested 13 people in connection with the terror attack at Istanbul airport on Tuesday, reported Reuters. Officials also confirmed that the three suspected Islamic State suicide bombers were from Russia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The attack left at least 41 people dead and more than 239 others injured when the militants opened fire at the entrance to the airport before entering the premises and detonating bombs. The police caught the people who are believed to have had links to the attack during raids conducted at 16 locations across the Turkish capital. Of those detained, three are reportedly foreigners. Though the investigators insist that the attack was carried out by the Islamic State, the militant group has not claimed responsibility for it so far.
