The Mumbai Police on Thursday filed a chargesheet against TV actor Pratyusha Banerjee's boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh for abetting her suicide. In the 1,000-page chargesheet, actor-producer Singh has been accused of abetment, assault and intimidation, reported ANI.

The chargesheet has the statements of 45 witnesses, including actor Kamya Punjabi, Banerjee’s family, relatives and friend Leena Dias. According to Hindustan Times, Singh is supposed to appear before the court on July 30.

During the interrogation and filing of the chargesheet, Banerjee's aunt Barnali had told the police that she saw injuries on Banerjee's thigh in February after she had a fight with Singh. Banerjee, best known for her role as Anandi on TV soap Balika Vadhu, was found hanging from a ceiling fan on April 1 at her Goregaon flat, which she shared with her boyfriend.

On April 25, the Bombay High Court granted Singh anticipatory bail after he was booked for abetment of suicide, assault and criminal intimidation on April 5. Banerjee's parents wrote to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the state home department and Mumbai Police Commissioner Datta Padsalgikar, alleging that Singh murdered their daughter.

They had also demanded that the case be transferred to the Crime Branch, claiming that the Bangur Nagar police, with whom the case is registered, had not taken seriously the family’s suspicion that Singh was involved in her death and was protecting the accused.
